The one thing most people are never told

Every Plan G covers exactly the same things. Only the price is different.

So the only question worth asking is: are you paying the lowest price for it?

Paying too much

Plan G at the wrong carrier

  • Same coverage as everyone else's Plan G
  • Higher monthly premium
  • Rates that climb faster every year
  • Not one extra dollar of benefit for it
vs
Same plan, less money

Plan G at the lowest-priced carrier

  • Identical coverage — it's standardized by law
  • Keep any doctor that takes Medicare
  • Often $30–$70 a month less
  • We find it for you, free

In California, Plan G recently ran from about $195/mo in Sacramento to $227/mo in Los Angeles for a woman turning 65 — for the very same coverage. Your exact rate depends on your age and ZIP, and that's the number Grace and a licensed agent get you.

The California Birthday Rule — your yearly right to switch

California law gives every Medicare Supplement holder a 60-day window each year, starting on your birthday, to switch to an equal or lesser plan with any carrier — with no health questions asked. If you've been putting off shopping because you worried about being turned down, this is the window that removes that worry.

Applies to current Medigap policyholders switching to same-or-lesser benefits. You must apply within your 60-day window — we recommend starting about 30 days before your birthday.

Why independent matters

We don't work for one company. We work for you.

A single carrier can only offer you their price. We compare across the top carriers and place you where your Plan G costs the least — then keep an eye on it as rates change.

Straight answers

Questions people ask first.

Is a cheaper Plan G really the same coverage?
Yes. Medicare Supplement plans are standardized by law, so every company's Plan G covers the exact same things. The only real difference between carriers is the monthly premium and how fast they raise it. Paying more gets you nothing extra.
Are you Medicare, or the government?
No. We are a private, independent, licensed insurance agency. We are not Medicare and not the government. We help you compare private Medicare Supplement plans and choose the one that fits.
Can I keep my own doctor?
With any Medicare Supplement plan, you can see any doctor or hospital in the country that accepts Medicare — no networks and no referrals. That's one of the biggest differences from Medicare Advantage.
Will you make me switch, or push me?
Never. If you're already at a good rate, we'll tell you honestly and you've lost nothing but two minutes. Our job is to give you the real numbers so you can decide for yourself.
What is the California Birthday Rule?
If you already have a Medicare Supplement plan, California law gives you 60 days each year, starting on your birthday, to switch to an equal or lesser plan with no health questions. It's a yearly chance to move to a lower price without being turned down for your health.
What does this cost me?
Nothing. Talking to Grace and to a licensed agent is free, with no obligation. You only ever pay your plan's premium to the insurance carrier — never a fee to us.
